Back in the day, farm families didn’t let much go to waste, old cotton and linen sacks were turned into just about everything. During the Great Depression, feed sacks weren’t just for grain, they became fabric for dresses, aprons, curtains, and even jackets.

Now, we’re giving that tradition a modern twist - turning damaged quilts, blankets, and feed sacks into one-of-a-kind handmade pieces with stories to tell.

  • 2 outside patch pockets, 1 inside Pocket on left side

  • Lined with 7oz Cotton Canvas in Natural color

  • Heavy Duty Marine Grade Snap Buttons

  • Some small stains and wear due to age of the material used

About the Feedsacks

  • Calrose Rice: A medium-grain rice developed in California in the 1940s. “Cal” stands for California, and “rose” refers to the medium-grain shape. It became a staple rice for Japanese-American communities and is still widely consumed. The feedsacks are from 1970.

    • Feedsack/Fabric Bag Use: Many vintage rice, flour, and feed bags were made of cotton or muslin and reused for clothing, quilting, or household goods. This one looks like a printed cotton or muslin sack, common from the mid-20th century (likely 1950s–70s).

    • Niko Niko means “smile” or “smiling” in Japanese, suggesting a friendly and family-oriented brand image.

    • Seasia (Seattle, WA): Is a Pacific Northwest-based Asian food importer.

    • It has been laundered but some small stains persist due to age
